Baby sister not a baby

So my little sister, Corey, is no longer that little. She's just graduated highschool! Graduating highschool for Americans is a really big deal. It's something all family members come to see, celebrate and congratulate. Gifts are given, usually a monetary donation to the graduate. It seems its a much bigger deal in the US than in other countries, and no, its not because we didn't expect them to finish highschool! Corey's smart, y'all!

For some reason, this doesn't really extend to college graduation. You might get some money, but you don't really expect people aside from your nuclear family to attend the ceremony. I don't know why this is, surely its a bigger deal to graduate college?? But for some reason, the focus is on highschool.

Corey graduated last weekend, and I wasn't able to be there for it. All part of the deal when you live in China. It's not always easy to hop across the pond so to speak.

So here's virtually celebrating Corey's graduation! Congrats Corey bug, you made it. Now you are off to Charleston on to the next phase. You are going to have a blast!

On the downside, my sister is no longer in highschool, which makes me sound infinitely older... Thanks Corey!

It was very surreal seeing her walk across the stage that night. Doesn't seem like that long ago she was the baby of the family.

On a side note, it was kind of disgusting how the whole ceremony basically devolved into a screaming white trash air-horn hootenanny. I barely heard Corey's name when they called it.
