Zeroing in

Coke Zero has finally landed in China. I may be late to the Coke Zero party, but its new to me, and I know that Zero has finally made it because my local xiao mai bu (mom and pop shop) actually sells them. This is when you know a product has finally made it in China, when the mom and pop shops feel they can sell them!

It was love at first sight with Zero, just look at the can, its amazing! I'm sorry, but this is quite possibly the sexiest packaging I have ever seen on a beverage (and no, Coke is not my client, but I am from the South - so for true Southerners, you are die hard Coke fans. Any soda is referred to as a coke, its not 'pop' or 'soda' its just a coke). Back to the can, dramatic black and red, I mean, who doesn't love the black and red combo, it makes drinking diet look cool for a change.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that I've recently been introduced to the word 'livery' and that I could use that term here, 'sexy livery' but I'm just not comfortable with it yet. I've only heard livery really used in Tudor England era novels (troops wearing Henry VIII's livery), and I've worked in advertising for almost 5 years... Maybe in 5 more I'll be using terms like livery? It just seems such a dated word, and this can is too fashion forward for that.

If anyone from Coke is reading, I'd just like to say, for your next product launch in China, can it be Diet Cherry Coke? I think you'll find a huge fan base for that, I for one, will be able to keep you in business!

Hey kid, just wondering if soda cans over there are 355ml or 12oz. They're all 355ml here in Iraq. Costs the same, almost looks the same, but you're gettin' less soda.
